Jurassic World 4 Release Date Set for 2025; David Leitch Directing


“Bullet Train” director David Leitch is in talks to direct a new “Jurassic World” film for Universal. The currently untitled project is scheduled for release on July 2, 2025.

David Koepp, the original screenwriter of “Jurassic Park” and “The Lost World: Jurassic Park,” will write the screenplay for the film, which will be produced by Steven Spielberg through Amblin Entertainment. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley will produce and David Leitch and Kelly McCormick will also produce through 87North.

Koepp's other screenplays during his more than 30-year screenwriting career include “Mission: Impossible,” “Spider-Man,” “Death Becomes Her,” “Panic Room” and “War of the Worlds.” He is represented by CAA and attorney David Fox at Myman Greenspan Fineman Fox Rosenberg & Light.

This film will mark the beginning of a new storyline in the juggernaut series, which spans three decades. It is not yet known whether previous stars, including Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern or Jeff Goldblum, will return.

Universal's Executive Vice President of Production Development Sara Scott and Creative Director of Production Development Jacqueline Garell will oversee the studio's project.

Since the June 1993 release of Spielberg's original “Jurassic Park,” the six-film franchise has grossed more than $6 billion worldwide. The most recent entry in the series, 2022's “Jurassic World Dominion,” has surpassed $1 billion worldwide.

David Leitch's directing credits include “John Wick,” “Atomic Blonde,” the “Fast & Furious” spinoff “Hobbes & Shaw,” “Deadpool 2” and the Emily Blunt and Ryan-led action comedy Gosling from this year's “The Fall Guy.” released May 3. He is represented by CAA, Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole and 42West.
