Killer Mike spoke out for the first time since his arrest at the 2024 Grammys. The rapper, who won three awards at the ceremony, spoke with V103's Big Tigger Morning Show. Although he was reluctant to discuss the assault arrest in detail, he described it as nothing more than a “speed bump” on an otherwise successful evening.
When asked what happened at the Crypto.com Arena on Sunday night, Mike responded simply: “I won a Grammy.” He then added, “We party all night. Shout out to my label. Nothing happened, man. But we're winners. That's all.”
Radio host Tigger then asked more directly why Mike had to leave the arena. “Didn't I look good? I looked fresh. All black man,” Mike replied. “Then I went to get all the gold… We hit a speed bump, then we went back to the party.”
Mike appeared on the breakfast show after staying up all night celebrating his success. The veteran Atlanta rapper won best rap album for his 2023 project Michaelas well as Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for “Scientists & Engineers,” a track from the album featuring André 3000.
