Haley Bennett and Dominic Cooper have joined the cast of the upcoming Apple TV+ series “The Last Frontier.” Variety has learned.
Bennett and Cooper join previously announced series lead Jason Clarke in the series, which received a 10-episode order in February 2023.
According to the official description, the series follows U.S. Marshal Frank Remnick (Clarke), “the sole marshal in charge of the quiet, rugged Alaskan barrens, whose jurisdiction is upended when a prison transport plane crashes into a isolated wilderness, featuring freeing dozens of violent inmates. Charged with protecting the city he swore to keep safe, he begins to suspect that the crash is not an accident, but the first step in a well-laid plan with international political implications. »
Bennett will play the role of Sidney, described as “a CIA agent assigned to work with Frank.” Cooper will play the role of Havlock, believed to be “a former Navy Seal and fugitive who is hunted by U.S. Marshals and the CIA.”
This will be the first television role of Bennett's career. She has previously starred in films such as “Swallow”, “Widow Clicquot”, “The Magnificent Seven” and “Cyrano”. She is also expected to appear in the upcoming “Borderlands” film.
She is repped by WME, Tavistock Wood and Brecheen Feldman Breimer Silver Thompson.
Cooper previously starred in the AMC series “Preacher” and has also appeared on shows like “Agent Carter” and “Spy City.” In the cinema, he is known for his roles in feature films like “Mamma Mia! » and its sequel, “The Devil's Double” and “Captain America: The First Avenger”.
He is repped by WME and Markham, Froggatt & Irwin.
“The Last Frontier” is from creators Jon Bokenkamp and Richard D’Ovidio. Both serve as executive producers alongside Clarke. Sam Hargrave will direct the pilot and executive produce. Apple Studios will produce.
