This Sunday, Usher will headline the Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show in Vegas. To capitalize on her moment in the spotlight, the R&B superstar released her latest album, Go home.
Go home is Usher's ninth studio album and his first since 2016 Hard II Love. It features the single “Good Good”, as well as appearances from Burna Boy, Pheelz and H.E.R. “A-Town Girl,” which features Latto, is a version of Billy Joel’s “Uptown Girl” renamed after Atlanta staples Magic City and lemon pepper wings. Check out the album in its entirety below.
Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music last year, Usher said the Super Bowl has been on his bucket list for a long time. “I've been asked many times, 'What are the benchmarks or things that matter most to you?' Obviously I'm on stage, but I'm able to perform on this stage because so many extraordinary performers have graced it and done incredible work,” he said. “Of course the obsession with it starts, but man, the excitement of that moment and being able to savor that moment. You remember the first time you heard your record on the radio. It's like that for me.”
As of this writing, the guest stars for the Super Bowl halftime show remain a surprise. Usher, however, hinted that he would bring in Ludacris and Lil Jon for his 2004 hit, “Yeah.” “I'd be a fool not to play 'Yeah!' let’s start there,” Usher said Entertainment tonight this week. “It would be crazy to go all the way to Las Vegas, Jon is there, Luda is there and not play 'Yeah!'”
Usher will follow his Super Bowl appearance with a North American tour. The 24-date Past Present Future tour will kick off in late August and continue through the fall. Tickets for all shows go on sale February 12 at 10 a.m. local time.
