2024 is shaping up to be the year some big pop stars come back, and that apparently includes Kacey Musgraves. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter has officially announced her fifth studio album, Deeper well. The record arrives in March and will apparently mark a return to his country roots.
After experimenting with a more pop sound on her 2021 album, crossed star, his new single “Deeper Well”, now available, is much more refined and has a folk leaning. Over bright but simple guitar, she still sings about the usual Kacey things: learning from her Saturn Return, waking up and cooking with her DIY gravity bong, and discovering new lessons about love and relationships.
Amazingly, according to a press release, Musgraves recorded the majority of the record at New York's famed Electric Lady Studios, seemingly able to evoke the country spirit despite being right in the heart of the Village. “I was looking for a different environmental energy, and Electric Lady has the best mojo. Great ghosts,” she said in a statement. The city makes the heart grow fonder!
