Travis Kelce capped off the Kansas City Chiefs' third Super Bowl victory, and second in a row, by kissing his girlfriend Taylor Swift on the field after the game.
The Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in a thrilling, defensively intense game that went into overtime. The final score was 25-22, with the Chiefs winning on a touchdown pass in the final seconds of overtime at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Swift traveled to Las Vegas to watch the Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers following her Eras Tour show in Tokyo the day before – her appearance was made possible thanks to the international dateline.
Swift's attendance at Chiefs games garnered attention from NFL and other media outlets — so much so that conspiracy theories ran rampant, particularly from right-wing media outlets. Among these theories are some speculating that the Super Bowl will be rigged for the Chiefs to win and that Swift will support President Joe Biden's re-election. Biden even admitted the wild conspiracy theories about X after the match.
Swift's appearance at the Super Bowl has also sparked a number of “prop bets,” or side bets unrelated to the game itself, such as how many times CBS will show her on camera during the telecast and what nuance of lipstick she will wear.
After winning her album of the year Grammy for “Midnights,” Swift set an all-time record for most wins in the category. She also won Best Pop Vocal Album that night. While accepting the award, she announced her upcoming studio album titled “The Tortured Poets Department”. It comes out on April 19.
At a Super Bowl press party at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Kelce revealed that he had heard the album, calling it “amazing.” “I can’t wait for her to turn the world upside down when it finally falls,” he added.
