Where to buy Beyoncé’s pink cat ear gaming headset

Who rules the world? Players.

ICYMI, Beyoncé made a rare and surprise appearance in a Verizon commercial that aired just after halftime during Sunday's big game between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers. The Grammy-winning megastar used the minute-long ad to announce his upcoming country album (currently called Act II), and to show off her range as she performed various stunts in an attempt to break Verizon's 5G internet.

A elongated cut ad that appeared online after the fact, plastered over a brief clip of Beyoncé as a Twitch streamer named “iamSlayonce.” (The account is real and verifiedbtw.) With Queen Bey dressed for the role in a pink cat-eared gaming headset – and positioned with her fingers miles away from the WASD keys – the clip quickly had its own viral moment on Twitter/X .

It's not every day you see Ms. Kitty Kat herself in a pair of “egirl cat” headphones, so I made it my personal mission to find them. I had a strong hunch that they were made by aesthetic gaming hardware brand Razer, as handle of X users also pointed out, but I couldn't find the exact model anywhere on the company's website.

Turns out there's a good reason for that, and it's not because Beyoncé had the headset custom made for her. This is because the helmet has been discontinued.

Beyoncé announces new album during the Super Bowl. It will fall next month.

In an email to Mashable, a Razer representative confirmed that Beyoncé was wearing a Razer Kraken Kitty Edition Quartz in her Verizon ad, although the original branding had been removed. The $149.99 Chroma RGB wired headset launched in 2020 as cutesy counterpart to the Kraken Ultimate, and it was replaced last year by a newer model, the Kraken Kitty V2, which has a lighter, thinner design and larger cat ears.

That said, I have two points of consolation for anyone who was hoping to purchase the Bey headset. The first is that the Kraken Kitty V2 only costs $99.99, which is $50 less than its sold-out predecessor. The other is the fact that the BeyHive hasn't yet made it to the Kraken Kitty V2: it was still in stock at several retailers at the time of writing. (This included Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Razer's website.)

The Kraken Kitty V2 is also available in a wireless variant – the Kraken Kitty V2 BT – which retails for the same price.

Beyoncé's Verizon ad wasn't the only big game ad featuring Razer hardware. Seth Abner of OpTic Gaming, Twitch streamer and former Call of Duty The eSports pro, nicknamed “scump,” donned a BlackShark V2 headset and sat in an Enki gaming chair during Mountain Dew's Baja Blast-themed campaign with Aubrey Plaza.

“As a leading global gaming lifestyle brand, we are excited to have our partners Verizon and OpTic Gaming feature Razer in their Super Bowl marketing campaigns,” Bob Picunko, Razer USA chief marketing officer, said in a statement. exclusive statement to Mashable. “Iconic moments like Beyoncé donning our Kraken Kitty headset or Scump playing with Aubrey Plaza while wearing a BlackShark V2 headset, highlight the strength of our collaborations and highlight the growing cultural importance of gaming.”

Now if we can only get Beyoncé to stream Red Dead Redemption 2 in honor of its new country era.
